2018 Sally Burns Shenkman Woman Filmmaker Fellow
The Sally Burns Shenkman Woman Filmmaker Fellowship at the Jacob Burns Film Center, supports an emerging filmmaker to make two short films. Previous Burns projects have premiered at SXSW, HotDocs, and Sundance.
2018 NeXt Doc Fellow
NeXt Doc is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for some of the most talented young documentary filmmakers in the country at the beginning stages of their careers. The year-long Fellowship kicks off with a week-long gathering in June that is intended to be an intensive skills and community building experience. This is followed by a year of mentorship and development for the entire cohort designed to elevate their capacity to succeed creatively and professionally and closes with a re-convening of the Fellows the following spring.
2016 Albright Fellow
I was one of 40 students chosen to be an Albright fellow and selected to present my findings on world hunger to Secretary Albright. The Albright Institute is designed to inspire a generation of global leaders through interdisciplinary research of a global issue in teams and embark on an internationally focused internship. I created a video to thank the Secretary and the Albright Institute. The Albright Institute is a lead funder of The Construct; Female Laborers and the Fight for Gender Equality.
2013 High Hopes Scholar
Recipient of Berkeley Community Fund's 2013 High Hopes Scholarship which gives four years of financial support and mentoring to high achieving low income students.
American Youth Leadership Program
I was one of 20 students across the country selected to travel to Cambodia with the American Youth Leadership Program to learn about how climate change impacts Southeast Asia. On the trip I got the opportunity to help rebuild a temple demolished by U.S. bombs, visit the killing fields, and meet with secondary school students from across the country.
McDonalds Champion Kid
I was one out of 10 students across the country selected to travel to the 2010 Winter Olympics as a youth reporter. On the trip I got to experience on camera reporting and interviewed many athletes including Shawn Johnson, Picabo Street, and Cassie Campbell. I wrote a article about the experience for Seventeen Magazine.
